Broxbourne

Tyrrell - Got the innings off to a flying start with the bat and kept wicket well without getting a sniff of a golden fielder point.

Mi. Freeman – Looks the real deal as an opening batsman now and made a patient and solid 34. Played some cultured cover drives while batting and skippered the side superbly. The batting side of his captaincy went smoothly, but reacted well when a plan B was needed during the defence of 224.

McHugh – In the middle of a torrid time with the bat at present and failed to cash in on the short boundaries. Fielded to a very high standard and saved numerous potential runs. Also bowled a nice cameo 2 over spell and claimed a vital wicket.

A.Underwood – In the best form of his life at the moment with the willow and smashed another impressive 43 on a pitch made with his strengths in mind. A bit sloppy in the field though by his usual standards.

Downing – Complied a personal best for the club with carefully chosen shots rather than brute strength, and helped to guide the total to one that gave the bowlers something to work with.

Rose – Another in good form on the batting front and got on with it in his usual no nonsense style. Got thrown the ball again during the most crucial passage of play and bowled two overs that helped get the pinks over the line.

Ma. Freeman – Came in at a crucial point in the innings and batted with a calming authority as the total headed towards the promised land. Then bowled a vital spell when the pressure was really on to win Rosaneri the match.

Mitchell – Bowled one of the best spells that the club has ever seen under intense pressure. To return 2 maidens in an 8 over burst with attacking batsmen set was simply sensational. Plugged away and finally got his reward by picking up a brace of valuable wickets.

N. Shewring – Another who bowled a crucial match shaping spell in order to calm down the early run frenzy. Didn’t get an ounce of luck in terms of wickets and just as it looked like he would get a reward Bloater the juggler stepped in to dash his hopes.

Sindrey – Bowled fast and kept the runs down in a good opening shift. Was held back for a couple of death overs, but literally came back as the pinks had edged into the safety zone and his second spell was not at full tilt.

Shuttlewood – Just had one of those days with the ball and got the tap. Also had a mixed day in the field which lurched from superb to shoddy.
