When does the season start ?

Rumours have been flying around all week that the start to The Rosaneri cricket season was to be brought forward to Saturday the 28th of April.

Initial speculation was crushed when Hoddesdon who had been lined up as the new curtain raiser had to pull out of the fixture due to lack of a pitch.

However, there still may be hope of an early start to the season as Walthamstow have now expressed a serious interest into filling this slot. More details will appear on line as soon as there are any developments.

A further date can be added to the diary though in the shape of a Sunday fixture against Farnham Cricket Club on the 22nd of July. The match will be played away at their ground on the outskirts of Bishop’s Stortford starting at 130pm and taking the format of 40 overs per side with tea between innings.

Farnham’s ground at Hazel End has been the home of Farnham village cricket since 1865. The picturesque ground, modern changing rooms and smart new pavilion offer the ideal location for traditional village cricket.

Details of the summer’s major road trip to The Cotswolds will be confirmed shortly.
