Player notebooks

Tyrrell – This was simply Mr Bell’s best ever performance. Not only did he smash a maiden century, but he also kept wicket to the highest standard. In a great display behind the stumps he claimed one catch, one stumping and two run outs. The batting was comfortable and calm even when he had to accelerate at the end to get to three figures.

Mi. Freeman – Dropped anchor and accompanied Mr Bell to an almost immaculate opening partnership of 127. Played some nice strokes and looked like a proper opener. Also held a stunning catch at point.

Leigh – Captained brilliantly to ensure as many as possible got a game in a one sided affair, and had the pleasure of striking the winning runs.

Alfieri – Fielded well and held two nice catches, but didn’t get a chance with the bat.

M. Cox – Charged round the field with tenacity and celebrated every wicket like a goal in the North London Derby. Another who didn’t get his chance with the bat.

Downing – Bowled nicely to generate wicket taking opportunities and ended up with the classic spinners stumping.

G. Cox – Only bowled four overs, but did bowl very well and was probably unlucky not to get given a few more by the skipper. Grabbed two wickets and contributed brilliantly to the four man run out.

Ma. Freeman – Bowled one of his best ever spells in his opening burst, but came back at the death and went to pot. Went a long way though to secure a pink victory by snaffling the prized wicket of Richardson.

S. Underwood – Not at his absolute best, but still managed to create stacks of chances. Only ended up with one wicket and clearly deserved more.

M. Rose – Undoubtedly put in his best shift with the ball for the club in his opening spell of six overs, but the second spell looked like a tin man had taken over.

Sindrey – Another first spell hero and second spell villain. Bowled so well in the opening exchanges he actually had 3 slips and a gulley.
