The man of the match votes are all in, and it is good to see that all 11 players voted this week.
However, I am actually personally shocked that Andy didn’t get all 11 votes. I was shocked that he didn’t vote for himself after hitting an unbeaten 138, and that he actually went through the process of making up some kind words about another player.
But it was with utter disbelief that two other voters somehow voted for players other than the centurion. If a man at our level of cricket is not the man of the match after hitting a hundred then there is something wrong, unless of course he is expected to get a ton every time he walks out. Not only did he get a ton, but he also clearly won us the game. Andy batted them into the ground scoring two thirds of our total runs and put the result well out of the reach of our opponents.
In fact, if Andy had of been out first ball we would have probably turned a comfortable victory into a crushing defeat !
Andy will receive top of the range locker room products.
