Travelling fans see a pink win

An imperious 138 not out from Andy Underwood propelled Rosaneri to a clear cut victory against Ware (Old Hertfordians).

Rosaneri were asked to bat and the innings couldn’t have got off to a worse start as the visitors crumbled to 2 for 2. Both wickets were give aways with Mr Bell and Bones both ruing poor shot selection.

Tony continued his great start to the season and got his head down to stem the flow of wickets. He and Bloater steadied the ship and while Tony cautiously went about his business Bloater cut loose with an avalanche of bludgeoned blows.

Coxy looked very good until a pre determined swipe sent him on his way back to the pavilion.

The innings was at a crossroads, but Jim played a quiet role and supported the big man as the pinks didn’t lose another wicket to post a superb 205.

Andy smashed and clubbed his way to a second ton for the club, and eventually went on to record a club record for an individual by ending up unbeaten on 138.

Andy’s innings will go down in history and it will live in the memory of all who lucky enough to witness it forevermore.

The bowling was business like and gradually strangled the home team into submission.

Pits yet again made the initial breakthrough and went on to secure a nice 3 fer. Nick picked up his usual 3 fer, while Marcus and Sinders both returned nice braces.

Mat Freeman bowled a very nice straight 8 overs, but he was not at his best. Sinders got his wickets in the second spell as usual. But the big mention must go to Marcus who took a caught and bowled to dismiss an explosive and dangerous batsman just as the home team were in a position to kick on and assume control. That control never came and the pinks cruised to victory.

30 wickets in 3 games is a very notable achievement for the bowling department.

A big thank you must go out to all the travelling fans that turned up, which must be something of a record for Rosaneri. And even bigger thanks must go out to Big Mike Freeman who umpired for all 80 overs.
