So, here we are again!

A new season awaits us and it's selection time again. The first week is usually one with scarce opportunities for places as players are itching to don their whites for the new campaign. However, we have three slots up for grabs this week and as expected selection has not been easy!

After much deliberation the three players filling the slots this week will be Mike Freeman, Stephen Underwood and John Shuttlewood. (This is a slight change to a previous post).

The team to face Nazeing will therefore be:

As is traditional for the first game of the season the captain and vice captain will be Jim and Nick.

The selectors would like to remind you all that NO decisions are taken lightly and request that players refrain from bearing judgement on the merits of decisions until the season has started to unfold - decisions that may seem unfair to you one week may be justfied the next week and so on. We are committed to providing as many opportunities as we can to everyone.

Important note regarding Adhoc players...

The club cannot function without our adhoc members and they are as much a part of the club as contracted players. We would ask our adhoc players to continue their support and good work and to assist the selectors simply by being integrated with the club. Selection is a hard and sometimes sensitive process within which there is often very little criteria by which to separate players. As such, selection will generaly lean towards those players that are contributing and integrating with the club be it through net attendance, spectating, club duties or just social interaction on the forum.
