The latest fixture to be confirmed is our away day to Derbyshire. The match is actually being played against Ockbrook & Borrowash Cricket Club who are one of the powerhouses of amateur cricket.
Only two years ago, their first team played in the Cockspur Cup final at Lords, the undisputed home of cricket. Fortunately, we are not playing the 1st XI, but rest assured this will be one of the toughest and most prestigious fixtures we play in all season.
In fact, this really is a game to plan your whole summer around. Our opponents were established as a cricket club in 1850 and play their games in the tranquil setting of the Derbyshire countryside. Their club motto is, “To the sword”, which is hopefully something that we can avoid.
The date of the match has been set for Sunday the 29th of July. Further details of our opponents can be seen on www.obcc.info .
