Royal connections

Yet another fixture for 2009 can today be confirmed for Sunday the 26th of July against St Margaretsbury’s academy XI.

St Margaretsbury are a massive club and it is a great honour for Rosaneri to be in a position to add this fixture to the list. What other club do we know that have officially been introduced to The Duke of Edinburgh ? They were actually formed in 1737, which obviously makes them the most established club that we have ever played !

The extract below describing their academy team was taken form their website;

The Academy XI has been developed to take the place of the Sunday 2nd XI. It is designed to allow the promising young cricketers at the club to play in a more relaxed, but competitive atmosphere, accompanied by some senior playing members to help encourage them to develop their games. The Academy XI will play in friendly matches though out the summer and will fulfil the good, long standing fixtures which have been built up over the years.

This will be a strong test of our level of ability at a cracking venue on our doorstep.
