Sheridan enjoyed a solid season and amassed a vital 149 runs for the team, averaging 13.55 every time he went out to the middle. A high score of 28, was probably below pre season expectations and Shell will be keen to get back in amongst the 50’s in 2009.

Early season form was scratchy and it wasn’t until Sheridan came away from opening the batting that his form really looked at the level we all expect of him.

The bowling was a real bonus, and against Enfield Sheridan nearly instigated a dramatic victory with a cameo stint with the ball. More spells with the ball are likely to follow in 2009 if and when the Captain needs an accurate potential wicket taker.

Shell also donned the gloves to great effect during 2008, and a great team display in the field against Hoddessdon probably had a lot to do with the smoothness of the man behind the stumps.

But the real highlight of Sheridan’s season was jointly winning the Champagne Moment with that stunning caught and bowled against Enfield on Charity Day at Lincoln Road.
