After the drama of voting being suspended on the forum following irregular voting patterns, and a private vote for players who played in both matches of the short-listed Champagne Moments we can finally declare a result.

A total of 8 players were entitled to vote in the final vote and unbelievably both moments ended up with 4 votes each.

But we had to have an overall winner as we only had one prize. Therefore an emergency panel of contracted players (Jim, Nick, and Pits) assembled yesterday morning to look at a way to declare an overall winner.

The panel mulled over a few options and eventually came to a decision.

There was no other option but to declare the contest a draw, and release club funds to purchase another bottle of bubbly.

Therefore The Champagne Moment for 2008 is shared between Sheridan Leigh and Andy Underwood. Both players will be presented with a bottle of Moet & Chandon Champagne at the end of season meal on Friday.
