5 fer takes award

The man of the match votes have all been counted and verified and the winner of the award against Enfield is Stephen Underwood.

Stephen recorded the club’s third ever 5 wicket haul in only four and a bit overs in an amazing spell of destructive bowling. There were no easy wickets as Enfield are a very solid club side, and of course he took the prize wicket of The Emperor.

Stephen wins a top of the range set of shower products.

The following comments were made by one of the voters, and are worthy of note.

My MOM vote has always been based on the performance of the individual compared to his average or standard performance and whilst I feel an element of guilt for not giving my vote to Stephen Underwood, it is because I personally believe that Stephen is a very good all round cricketer. His 5 wicket haul was a fantastic personal performance and certainly an above average performance by him. However, the PIT Bulls performance was far better than anything he has produced in the past. His bowling was tighter than he has ever produced before and his batting was better than his bowling! A great 40 odd partnership with Slaps helped give us respectability in this game. For those reasons I give my vote to the P.I.T.

Well done mate!
