Captain named for opening game

The first game of the season is rapidly approaching and it is time for the club to name their Captain and Vice Captain for the trip to Clacton.

As discussed at the pre season meeting the captaincy and vice captaincy will vary according to the fixture and situation. Those present at the meeting agreed that a senior player would be named as Captain, and one of the new players to the game would act as the Vice Captain.

The responsibility of being Captain can never be underestimated, as their actions can not only win or lose a game, but they can also give players a great day out or ruin a sunny afternoon.

After careful consideration Rosaneri Cricket Club are pleased to announce Shell as Captain and John Shuttlewood (Pits) as Vice Captain for the opening battle on the east coast.

Shell has always had the credentials to be a perfect club captain, being a talented batsman with a diplomatic approach to everything that he does. He will be assisted on the day by Pits, who is a keen student of the game and a player dedicated to the club.
