A dream fulfilled

A dream was fulfilled at 1pm on Sunday 21st September 2008.

I finally got to play against an Enfield side at the historic Lincoln Road cricket ground.

As I made my way on to the outfield to take up my fielding position a big smile appeared across my face as realised I was finally going to be able to pit my abilities against one of Middlesex’s top clubs.

After playing for Edmonton CC in my early cricketing years and then for Winchmore Hill CC after leaving school; I had never had the opportunity to walk out on to the hallowed turf to take on Enfield CC at their famous home ground.

Although the new love of my sporting life Rosaneri CC (sorry Arsenal) did not win the game, just to compete against a top club and field and bat in a way not to disgrace myself made me a happy man.

So here’s a big thank you to the selectors for making a cricketer, who has returned to the fold after many years away from the game, a very happy man.
