Now for the big one

Today’s game is the second leg of a mini series against Enfield. The first game back at the very start of the 2008 season ended in a draw with a section of the home crowd booing The Pinks from the pitch at the end of their innings.

Rosaneri batted for a massive 53 overs to eek out a total to defend in the light of some very accurate bowling from the Enfield boys. As it happened the total was defendable and the Pinks were attacking for a win as the home side clung on for a draw.

Playing at Lincoln Road is always a pleasure, and today’s enjoyment gets underway at 1pm. Players are advised to arrive at the ground for 12.15pm.

The exact format of the game is yet to be decided, but there have been murmurings that a 30 over clash could be on the cards. This is far from settled and has only really been suggested to appease golf fans who want to get in the bar for the Ryder Cup.

Stephen Underwood comes into the team to replace brother Ben, and Andy Underwood will take the captains armband. Graham Sparrey will be the vice captain.

We have a nice balance to the team, but the bowlers will really need to perform as Lincoln Road is renowned as a batting track. Last week we competed really hard, and we must try to keep up that standard in this weeks clash.

As the season draws to a close stats are on most peoples minds, so here is a reminder of the leading wicket takers and batsmen.
