Trip into the unknown

Hopefully you are reading your dose of Good Morning Sports Fans to a lovely autumn day outside.

The weather was excellent on Saturday and the pitch should be a lot dryer than it would have been 3 or 4 days ago, and the forecast for today is for more of the same.

Autumnal cricket can be one of the most pleasurable experiences in life, but it can equally be miserable if the wind is up and rain is forecast ! Fingers crossed though we should be in for the former, and with the leaves changing colour, and some mild sunshine breaking through we should be in for a pleasant afternoon.

Potter Street & Church Langley are an unknown quantity to the club as this will be our first encounter. But a form line through North Weald probably means we are in for a tough afternoon.

However, Rosaneri have named a very strong side with both batting and bowling departments having strength in depth.

Find of the season, Mike Freeman, comes back into the side to add solid opening batting as well as his brilliant fielding. Kiwi Graham makes his seasonal reappearance and is a big score with the bat waiting to happen. We also see a second appearance for the club from Jimmy Mitchell who once he blows the rust off will be a top all rounder for the club.

Jim has been named as Captain and Mr Bell will act as vice captain.

The club would also like to wish Andy Underwood many happy returns of the day as he celebrates his 35th birthday by playing the game he loves with his mates.
