Disappointment

The disappointment of yesterday’s cancellation is still very prominent in all players and supporters minds. It was made even worse as if the game had of taken place we wouldn’t have seen a single drop of rain.

Early efforts at restaging the game for September the 28th have run into trouble. The first big blow was the fact that Lincoln Road is not available that day. There are also other issues, but we are exploring the possibility of transferring the game to East Lodge Lane, Botany Bay.

Whatever happens we will be moving heaven and earth to get a fixture secured on the 28th whether it is against The Cotswolds or not. Any developments will be posted on the website as soon as possible.

This week has also been a wake up call for most squad members that the season is nearly over. So with the long winter in mind it is vital that we win another game before those long dark nights kick in.

We cannot go into our end of season meal with our last win a distant memory back in July.

From the early availability call it looks like there will be at least 4 places available for ad hocs for this weeks match against Church Langley. First things first though, I suppose we need to keep our fingers crossed for the weather.

Nets will continue this week at Goffs School in Cheshunt with the session getting underway at 9pm.

We have not entered a winter indoor league this year, but it is something that can be discussed at the AGM for future years.

The forum is alive at the moment with the fall out from our wash out this weekend, so please get on there and get posting.
