Third trip to Harlow

We have only had a week off and it seems like we have been on a cricket starvation diet.

Today the Pinks travel to Harlow, for the third time this season, to take on the Harlow Sunday 2nd XI. We have already suffered two reversals at the ground this season by coming off second best to the Harlow vets in low scoring encounters.

On the positive side though, we did claim a famous victory at the ground last year against their Sunday 3rd XI.

The weather is not forecast to be too good, but with the recent dry spell we should be able to get some cricket. The format of the match has not yet been decided, but this will be sorted out at the toss.

Rosaneri will be captained on the day by John Shuttlewood who is making his playing comeback after 3 months off recovering from a hernia operation. John may well be rusty in terms of bowling and batting, but he is a student of cricket and his captaincy skills will be as sharp as ever.

The game starts at 1pm, and captain Shuttlewood has demanded that his players are changed and ready for a warm up at 12.30pm. We badly need a win and John has targeted this game as the perfect stepping stone for victory in next weeks big one against The Cotswolds.

Win, lose or draw we must fight for every run while both batting and bowling. Batsmen are reminded of the need to look for quick singles, and fielders must remember to remain 100% positive and focussed at all times.
