Player notebooks

Mi. Freeman – Thrown in at the last minute to open the batting and looked thoroughly assured until a rare misjudgement struck him on the pad in front of the stumps. Can take pride though in the fact that he hit the shot of the day in the shape of a classic cover drive for 4.

Alfieri – Had to step up and open the batting as nobody else was ready in all the rush of being late. Looked like he had withstood the early storm, but was eventually bowled by the top bowler.

Tyrrell – Never settled when batting, kept wicket in a tidy fashion but did not capitalise on a number of chances. The pre match rush probably did not help.

M. Cox – This was undoubtedly Coxy’s best ever innings. Went to the middle in determined fashion and got his head down to graft a valuable 27 runs. Played well judged shots and looked totally at home in this hot company.

A. Underwood – Totally out of touch with the bat and badly needs a score. However, fielded well and had a direct hit of the stumps for a run out.

Tona – Another double figure score from Rosaneri’s Mr Reliable. Hit a big six and looked comfortable until surprisingly giving his wicket away.

G. Cox – Disappointed with the bat, and bowled well without getting the luck he perhaps deserved.

Downing – Saved the innings with a well constructed 46. Never looked in trouble until he was bowled 4 runs short of a deserved 50. Didn’t get a chance to bowl.

Ma. Freeman – Batted immaculately and helped to rebuild the innings and then bowled with full Gunther aggression to make Rosaneri competitive.

N. Shewring – The batting element ended too quickly, but the bowling was top draw. Tied down the openers and made runs very hard to come by. Took a deserved wicket with a caught and bowled effort in his second spell.

Sindrey – Didn’t really get chance with the bat and his bowling was slightly out sorts. Did captain well after being presented with an unplanned and chaotic late start to the match.
