Name that Tune!!
Picture the scene,....the sun is low in the sky casting long shadows across the baked wicket and the distant sound of wood pigeons can be heard on the air. The tranquility is suddenly shattered by a shrill PA system.... "Please welcome, batting at number 3 for Enfield Rosaneri...JOHN SHUTTLEWOOD!...
As Pitbull raises his bat to the crowd his familiar theme tune erupts...'YOU'RE SIMPLY THE BEST......BETTER THAN ALL THE REST, ...BETTER THAN ANY MAN,.....ANY MAN I EVER MET...."
This is of course the wonderful world of Twenty20 cricket.
The nights are already drawing out with British Summer Time starting this weekend and the Rossers are looking forward to a festival of Twenty20 over the coming months. We will be adopting the customary theme tune entrance where facilities permit so it's time for you all to start thinking about the track you want to hear as you make your way to the crease. You can pick almost any track you like (providing you know the name or the artist) and the management will source it for you and make the necessary arrangements. (If it's a tune that you already have in digital format such as CD or mp3 then that's even better!). When you have decided simply email your choice to mysong@rosanericricket.co.uk.
Perhaps like Phil, you think you've got "The Power" - or maybe you'll just be "Lazing on a sunny afternoon" - the choice is yours!
So whether you're a "Soul Man" a "Space Cowboy" or "Simply the Best", get your thinking caps on now!
Pits has already selected "Always look on the bright side of life" and "Over before it began" as tunes to be played at the end of his innings!
By the way Marcus - you can't have "Ozzies Dream"...Mr Bell has reserved it.
