Harlow vets

Mi.Freeman – Showed his usual energy and commitment in the field, and bowled a very controlled spell which culminated in the prize wicket of Sir Viv. Opened the batting and looked very comfortable until playing an uncharacteristic shot to get out.

A.Underwood – Kept wicket very well, even if he lacked the style of Sheridan in last weeks match. Took a nice stumping and kept the extras in check. Failed with the bat when he blocked a ball to mid on.

Mark (Tony’s mate) – Fielded with real effort and bundles of energy. Hadn’t played for a few years and got caught early in his innings. A big thank from all for helping us out.

Alfieri – Was faultless in the field and saved numerous runs. Looked set for some runs until he played round a straight one and was leg before wicket.

Levett – Came through a late fitness test and showed his commitment to the team by giving up an organic lamb shank lunch. Fielded to a very high standard and took two very decent catches. Batted in a technically sound style and stroked two top quality boundaries. However, ignored advice and was inevitably stumped.

Sindrey – Played as an all rounder by bowling less than usual and proved he was up to the task by returning good figures in both disciplines. Particularly batted well and just fell short of a match winning knock.

Downing – Bowled very accurately, returned economical figures, but just couldn’t temp the batsmen into giving their wicket away. Looked comfortable with the bat, but holed out to the outstanding fielder on the pitch when trying to force the issue.

S.Shewring – Bowled his usual tight line and length, but didn’t pick up any reward. Came into bat like a man on a mission, but was another who holed out to the top fielder on the ropes edge in a 6 or out moment.

N.Shewring – Bowled very well and soon made the breakthrough that was urgently required after 25 overs of wicketless cricket. Returned a nice 3 fer, but his batting stint was over far too quickly.

Ma.Freeman – His bowling was compared to the M4. Straight and boring, but very effective. Mat literally bowled perfectly for test match conditions and was a major reason why the Vets total was so low. Rosaneri fans had high hopes when Mat came out to bat and some believed that the total was more than achievable. However a sight screen issue signalled an early end to his innings and Rosaneri’s hopes.

Gmul – On the money from the very first ball and bowled a lovely cameo spell that gave away very few run scoring chances. However, the towel hanging from his back pocket made him look more camp than Graham Norton. Batted with maturity and with full understanding to what was expected of him. Well done sir.
