Gripping frustration

Imagine the frustration...you take delivery of a brand new Aston Martin only to find you don't have the keys! Maybe it's not on the same scale but the new Rosaneri grips are superb apart from the fact that I can't get the flipping thing on the bat!

It's true what they say - there is no substitute for having the right tools! In this case that would be in the form of a very cheap conical applicator - NOT a mop handle, pepper pot, can of deodourant and a stump (attached to a spring back base!). These were my weapons of choice and at 2.00am last night I entered into battle with my new grip. It soon became apparent that there was to be only one winner and that was a 12 inch length of pink rubber. That's not to say I didn't give it a good run for it's money! I had managed to roll the thing into a doughnut (an all too familiar shape) and it seemed a simple step to unroll it over the waiting handle - it wasn't. I turned the thing inside out (a tricky task in itself!), back again, then inside out again and then rolled it over the conical pepper pot - all to no avail. By 3.00am I was finally beaten into submission and left the grip sitting on the coffee table basking in victory as I cleared away the bizarre array of pariphinalia.

I awoke this morning bleary eyed and sore handed! Why did I let my childish impatience get the better of me - afterall, the club has already sourced an applicator which will be available shortly and it's not as if i could use the bat for another week anyway!

If any of you do manage to get one on without an applicator let me know!

I quite like my yellow grip anyway!
