Our pitch side correspondent reports that Friday’s weather was not really what we wanted.

The sun got out at times but it was unfortunately interrupted by massive downpours. The outfield took a soaking and we have moved into the fingers crossed stage.

The meet time on Sunday morning is 8am at the Bullsmoor Lane McDonalds in Enfield. Please feel free to get there a touch earlier if you want to indulge in a large breakfast. We really must hit the road by 8.15am though.

The pitch is approximately 165 miles away and the estimated travel time is a shade under 3 hours. A half way coffee is also on the agenda and it is hoped that we will arrive at Eastnor Castle before 12pm.

Lunch and liquid refreshment is scheduled between 12 and 1pm, with play due to get underway at 1.15pm. The match will be timed and tea served between innings.

Dramatic team news filtered through on late Friday afternoon with Steve Shewring announcing that he had sustained a back injury which would prevent him from bowling. Steve may be able to travel to make 11, but the management team are desperately seeking a fully fit replacement.
