Plans have changed

Plans for Sunday’s big match in the Cotswolds are literally changing by the minute.

But the latest version of the plan is to assess the weather and pitch conditions on the morning of the match and then decide whether we travel or not. This is in fact very similar to the approach we took last year.

As a result, it will mean that we will play only one match and start at a much later kick off time of 1pm to allow us ample travelling time. The match format will most likely be a timed match.

The need now for Twenty/20 shirts and theme tunes has evaporated as the sporting battle will be taking the traditional format.

Therefore the hotel plans are totally shelved and a Saturday night pass is no longer required. This is obviously a blow to potential banter and poker plans, but with the predicted weather it is the sensible option.

All efforts are being made to get some cricket in, but we now face two battles. The weather and amount of water in the build up, and also the weather on the day. Both issues are well beyond our control, but hopefully we have made sensible plans.

Any developments will be reported online as soon as they break.

We are probably 50/50 to get the game on, but let’s keep our fingers crossed and an eye on the weather in the hope that we get to play at Eastnor Castle.
