Keep an eye on the weather

We have waited for over 2 years, but we are now only a week away from our road trip to Eastnor Castle to take on the boys from the Cotswolds.

Last years affair was lost to the weather, and the long term forecast is not looking great at present. We have been extremely lucky with the weather so far this year and we are certainly due a rainy matchday. But surely it cannot be another washout in the Cotswolds ?

The hope is that most long term forecasts are inaccurate, and we will have a much better idea come Wednesday or Thursday. Fingers crossed, and watch this space.

The organisation for this event is a little behind schedule, but with the doubt over the weather it may be a blessing in disguise. The hotel options are still being considered, but we will not make a panic booking until we make sure we are not going to get left with hotel rooms that are not needed.

If we get lucky with the weather, the day will probably take the following format.

Proceedings will get underway at 11am with a timed match lasting 5 hours. (Lunch will be taken in between innings) The conclusion of this game will probably be at 4pm. (Exact time to be confirmed on the day)

The timed match will be followed by an evening Twenty/20, so in essence we will be playing two separate matches.

One thing that all players need to do who are playing in this match is to email admin@rosanericricket.co.uk as soon as possible with their preferred music to run out to when batting. Please do not assume that we already know.

The other thing we need to get sorted out is Official club pink shirts for the Twenty/20. Those who played in the previous contest in 2006 should still have one, but I have roughly calculated that we will need 4 new ones. If you do require a shirt, please also email the above address.

The build up is now well underway and more news will follow as the week progresses.
