Business as usual

Wednesday the 14th of March sees winter nets get back to normal at Winchmore School. The session will start at our usual allotted time of 9pm, but it is suggested for those wanting a new club grip fitted to a bat that they arrive at 8.30pm.

Club officials will be on hand to supervise the fitting of grips, and hopefully it will all be done by the time the first ball is due to be bowled.

With Tottenham playing against Portuguese part timers in a dead rubber of a European game, and Arsenal away and not on the box, it is anticipated that we will have a good turn out.

This week the focus towards our first game of the season steps up somewhat and it is planned that the batsmen will spend the majority of the evening batting and the bowlers will try and nail their consistency. The batsmen need to be mindful of the importance of the team being able to bat for the entire 40 overs, while the bowlers need to get used to the physical demands of long spells.
