The match against Harlow Vets was another difficult choice for the electorate as a number of players made tidy contributions without being outstanding.
No fewer than five players received nominations (Downing, Underwood, Cox, Rose and Sindrey) and in the end it was Jim Downing who received enough votes to creep over the line and be named as the man of the match.
Jim bowled 2 neat spells and took the wicket of the opposition dangerman with a controlled caught and bowled. He then set about winning the match with the bat in his usual style and added an unbeaten 21 before the support at the other end was extinguished.
Below are the comments of one of the voters:
Tricky one this week as no-one really stood out from the crowd for me. Good innings from Shell and great bowling from Sindrey but I think I will go for Jim Downing as he bowled solidly (although perhaps within himself a shade) and once again proved solid and dependable with the bat - nearly getting us over the line but just running out of partners.
Jim wins a top brand shower gel and deodorant combination.
