With the start of the season less than two months away, it is time for Rosaneri Cricket Club to unveil the Golden Fielder competition for 2007.
The competition is designed to encourage good fielding throughout the entire squad and to reward the clubs most valuable fielder at the end of the season with the status of being the Golden Fielder.
Points will be awarded for catching, stumpings, and the major contribution to run outs. Catching speaks for itself and stumpings will be awarded to the wicket keeper. A stumping can be claimed when the batsman misses the ball and the wicket keeper knocks off the bails with the batsmen out of his crease. Points for run outs will be awarded to the fielder who makes a direct hit, or who throws to either the wicket keeper or the bowler for the bails to be knocked off.
One point will be awarded for all acts of Golden Fielding and a leader board will be regularly updated on the website once the season is underway.
Points will be awarded for all games and any disputes involving run outs will be settled by the selection committee.
