Essex here we come

The big fixtures have been coming thick and fast, but today’s match against Tendring is one that has been looked forward to for months.

Last years clash saw Rosaneri soundly beaten, but the entire squad have improved in leaps and bounds since last May. Our current form couldn’t be better and we certainly head into this re-match with maximum confidence.

The day will really get underway at The Cherry Tree Pub opposite the ground from 12pm onwards. Match fees of £10 will be collected before the game and pre- match and post match drinks will come out of the match fees.

The balance of the team looks particularly strong and Captain Pits couldn’t ask for a better bunch to take into battle.

Shell and Tony have both expressed a preference to bat at 4 and 5, while GBell looks certain to continue his new role as an opening batsman.

We have no real idea of the strength of the Tendring team apart from knowing who their captain on the day is. Upon checking the Tendring website, it turns out that their captain was last years leading wicket taker and second top batsman ! He averaged 34 with the bat and took a wicket every 15 runs. His top score last season was 97 not out, and this season he has already warmed up with a 93 not out.

It seems that a great game is in prospect as the Pinks look to extend their recent run of good form.

A summary report will appear online as soon as possible.

The meet time at McDonalds has been brought forward slightly to 10.45am, as we really need to be a few miles into the journey by 11am to be able to enjoy maximum pre match build up in the pub.
