Record batting stint seals prize

In a very tight week of voting Mark Cox emerged with the most votes to walk away with the man of the match prize against Botany Bay.

Mark just squeezed out his brother Gareth and Gbell by a single vote.

Brilliant fielding and a record personal score with the bat seemed to be the flavour of the voters comments.

Below are the comments of a mystery voter:

Man of the match is a bit of a tougher choice as there are a few worthy contenders. I felt Bell's performance with the bat was very good and got us off to a great start. Andy Underwood also had a very good innings and when tossed the gloves, kept wicket superbly. Nick Shewring had a great spell with the ball, took two wickets and had the batsman in all sorts of trouble. However my man of the match goes to Mark Cox. I have selected Mark based on the overall performance on the day, he fielded very well, chased everything and took a good catch, he then bowled accurately when asked but it was his performance with the bat that won the vote. Knowing that confidence has been an issue I think that this innings was a vital one for him, he scored well and saw off the opening bowlers. The innings came at an important time in the game and I'm sure this will give him the confidence to score a lot more runs throughout the course of the season.
