Player notebook

Player notebook:

Leigh – Got out with a badly timed aggressive shot early in his innings. Emerged as a surprise hero with the ball though to grab 2 wickets when Rosaneri needed them most. Took an amazing caught and bowled with his first ball to send the crowd wild.

Alfieri – Struggling with the bat at the top of the order and has now requested a drop further down the order to find his form. Fielded well, and is still shaking his head at the shock of his barbecue being the last prize in the raffle !

Ian – Captained brilliantly in a very demanding game and battled with the bat to grind out his second 50 for the club. A remarkable innings that the Pinks needed badly to keep them in the game.

A.Underwood – Got his head down and batted with maturity to help rebuild the Rosaneri innings. Was just hitting to form when he was uncharacteristically bowled. Stepped up to do a good job behind the stumps when Gbell was injured.

Downing – Batted well and hit a couple of smart cover drives for 4 in a knock that put Rosaneri in a good position. On the bowling front Jim returned sensational figures to put Enfield totally out of the game.

M.Cox – Added vital runs in a confident looking innings and took a wicket as required when the captain tossed him the ball.

Tyrrell – Another who batted well, and did look in really good form until being given out lbw. Could well find himself being used as an opener again as the club seem to have a problem at the top of the order. Kept well until a Sindrey rocket drilled him on the ankle.

Freeman – A vital innings that edged Rosaneri into a position of relative control. Bowled well without getting any lucky breaks.

S.Shewring – Bowled one of his best spells for the club by conceding only 14 runs in 8 straight overs. This spell ultimately assured Rosaneri the draw and then left the way open for the spinners to have a go at securing the win.

Rose – Got the massive wicket that turned the game on its head in a steady spell, and then took a super catch on the run when Enfield started to wobble.

Sindrey – Put bundles of energy and effort in with the ball to generate some lively pace out of a dull pitch. Had a couple of edges wiz past the slips and was generally out of luck.
