Rosaneri finish on top to claim draw

What a day !

Rosaneri battled on the pitch for a fantastic draw and off the pitch a crowd of a 100+ enjoyed a fun filled day out.

The Bouncy Castle was a roaring success, the Sucka Slush machine a sensation, and the face painting went down a storm. The raffle was also a big success and over £200 was raised for charity. (Exact figure to be confirmed)

For these magnificent off the field successes we must thank Mat Freeman (Bouncy Castle), Marcus (Slush machine), Nikki Cox (face painting), and Sheridan for organising the charity raffle.

On the pitch, Rosaneri who were surprisingly asked to bat first got off to a bad start and found themselves 2 wickets down with only 5 runs on the board. Ian and Bloater then bedded themselves in and slowly set about repairing the damage.

Bloater had just moved into top gear when he got bowled and Rosaneri were still not out of jail at 36 for 3. Jim then came to the wicket and patiently worked with Ian on a slow and low pitch to grind the total upwards. Some supporters commented it was like watching a Griffiths Vs Thorborn snooker match at times !

A partnership of 62 in 20 overs put Rosaneri in a great position to set some kind of total. Ian eventually departed for a gutsy 51, which ultimately put the pinks firmly in control. Coxy, Bell, and Mat all then chipped in with vital quick runs to help Rosaneri post 137.

Enfield started their reply brightly and were 50 without loss with 18 overs left. The pace guys bowled well, but just didn’t get the luck. Then Marcus came into the attack and the whole game changed. He made the vital breakthrough and Rosaneri started to believe that they were back in the game.

Jim then came on and produced 3 quick wickets along with Shell who grabbed 2 and the victory looked on. Coxy then came into the attack and he took a wicket with his very first ball.

But Enfield’s experience ensured that the shutters were firmly pulled down and Rosaneri walked off with a very satisfying draw.
