Ian named as skipper

The selectors have opted for experience again in a pressure cooker of a game at one of the biggest venues on the circuit, by naming Ian as Captain.

Although this again goes against what was agreed at the club's AGM, this is a game where experience will be vital. The pressure on a rookie captain would be massive, so a wise old head is considered to be the preferred option.

Ian directed the club to it's first ever win back in 2006, and he goes into battle on Sunday with Shell as his vice captain. Sheridan's role will mainly be to advise Ian of players current form, and to point out the massive improvements players have made during the winter net sessions.

The leadership of the team is in safe hands, many players have put massive amounts of effort in at nets and we go into the big clash on the back of great result in the opening match.
