Nets will now continue at Goffs School for at least another month. The decision has been made with predominantly the weather in mind, but also to save people rushing home from work for the outdoor earlier start time.
The weather is still far from settled and there is nothing worse than looking forward to a net all day at work and then having it ruined by damp and cold conditions.
Therefore it is business as usual this week with players required to turn up at 8.30pm for and 8.45pm start.
As mentioned in yesterday’s article we need to make ourselves hard to beat, and that will always come down to our batting. With this in mind please work on your shot selection, which basically means defend or leave good balls and attack the bad ones. It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to work out that staying at the crease gives you more chance to score runs than sitting back in the pavilion !
Bowling in the only game of the season so far was very good, but there is definitely room for improvement and by working on consistency we can hopefully reduce the ridiculous amount of extras that we are giving away.
The fight for Sunday starts tonight.
