Charity and fun

Next Sunday is Rosaneri Cricket Club’s Family Day. At the centre of proceedings is the main event in which Rosaneri take on Enfield’s 2nd XI at Lincoln Road.

The day has two main aims.

Firstly, we are looking to introduce friends and family to the delights of cricket and secondly we are looking to raise money for charity.

This year’s charity has been chosen by Sheridan, and he has asked that all money raised be donated to The National Autistic Society. This is a most worthy cause and Sheridan has informed the charity of our event to which they have thanked us very much and wished Rosaneri good luck in the big match.

On the day we will be holding a grand raffle with all money collected being donated to the charity. With this in mind it is vital that we do not waste any of the money by paying out for prizes. Therefore we are asking every player to bring something to donate as a prize.

There is no pressure for those who do not wish to contribute, but it would be a nice touch if we had at least 11 prizes. Donated prizes can be anything and everything, but it would be nice to have a mixed bag to appeal to all age ranges that are likely to be present at the event.

Ideas for prizes could include bottles of drink, chocolates, cosmetics or something for the kids.

The Bouncy Castle has been booked for the Presidents Lawn, and the Noisy Drinks Company will be providing a heavily subsidised Slush machine. Enfield will also be laying on one of their traditional early evening post match barbecues.

Hopefully we get lucky with the weather and everyone gets to enjoy a great day of cricket and fun.
