Brace yourselves...

The anticipation is hot but the weather is not! The weekend weather forecasts suggest that we may just get away with it this weekend but we need a bit of luck and fair wind. The wind looks guaranteed but it is unlikely to be fair as the temperatures are not expected to make it to double figures. With this in mind it's important that everyone makes sure that they bring appropriate kit as a few hours in the field could seem an eternity in a t-shirt and summer trousers! If you're standing around shivering you won't be much use when a catching opportunity comes your way!

A jumper looks like a must and investing in one of the new skin tight lycra sports undergarments could be a wise move although not a flattering one for some!

Lets just keep our fingers crossed that the forecasters are hedging their bets - you never know!

The captain for the first fixture will be Jim and Nick will act as vice captain. This is our first fixture of the season and our first timed game ever so Jim will step in to make sure things run smoothly in unfamiliar territory. Nick will assist where required and between them they will ensure that everything is organised for the first game and get us off on a sound footing for the rest of the 2008 season. As for last season the positions will rotate with each match and everyone will get a chance if they want it.

All that remains to be said is..

brace yourselves,

batten down the hatches,

and..

lets....play....cricket!!!!!
