The coming week is the biggest week of 2008 so far for Rosaneri Cricket Club as we rapidly approach the first ball of the 2008 summer.

Hopefully the team for the opening match will be published on this site by Wednesday morning and the Captain and Vice Captain will be named shortly after that.

Wednesday will also see the last opportunity for pre season practice with the net session at Goffs School. This last minute net may well be the difference between a duck and a score.

The hours are literally counting down, and we are as ready as we can be with a solid block of winter nets behind us. Our bowlers have improved considerably to this similar stage last year, and our batsmen have all added so much more to their games.

We are also more battled hardened than last year, and an element of naivety has been replaced by been there done that experience.

Even if you can’t attend on Wednesday, you need to start thinking about how you are going to approach the first few balls of your innings, or how you are going to bowl the first few balls of your spell.

Hang on tight, the rollercoaster is about to get going.
