Keep up the good work

With tonight and one other session before the start of the 2008 season it has never been more vital to attend nets. The meet for the session will as usual be 8.30pm, and a prompt set up will hopefully see us well under way by 8.45pm.

I cannot stress enough that you must text myself or Nick to inform us that you are coming if you are even a fraction late for the 8.30pm meet time. This ensures that we do not over pay for lanes that we do not need, and also helps to ensure that we don’t under book and have too many squeezed into too few nets.

The focus of the session will again be batting as it is vital that all our batsmen are in good touch come the first day of the season. Specialist batsmen will receive extra time slots, but it is also important for our non specialist batsmen to focus as their runs could well influence the outcome of the first match.

The non specialist batsmen should pay particular attention to defending their wicket as not getting out in that first game could earn the Pinks a draw.

The Bowling last week was really good and a repeat effort this week will see the batsmen get a good workout and the bowlers further building their confidence by putting the ball in the right areas.

Hopefully this week will also see the return of the Net Doctor. If you are desperate to get another consultation in with the doctor before the season starts, then please let a club official know upon arrival.
