Following on from the ad hoc selection article the other day, I think it is very important to also establish the contracted player availability.

This information will be vital for the selectors to plan ahead.

With this in mind could all contracted players email selection@rosanericricket.co.uk as quickly as possible with dates that they definitely know that they will NOT be available for. This can be holiday dates, stag weekends, weddings, family celebrations etc.

Some players have already taken the trouble to do so, but please send the information again to ensure that it has been received and logged.

The 11 contracted players are:

Using last year as an example it averaged that 3 contracted players were missing per game. There was never an occasion when all 11 were available, so it shows that we need to be organised to ensure that we do not have to take the field with 10.

We have a very strong pool of ad hoc players to step in, but to be fair to them and the selectors, the contracted players need to get their non availability in as soon as possible.

A wonderful season of cricket is about to unfold, but every player be they contracted or ad hoc has a duty to help the selectors as much as they can with a flow of information.
