Big turn out bodes well
12 players and coach Tilley turned out last night to further fine tune skills with the start of the season only a month away. This amount of players at winter nets clearly bodes well as it demonstrates that we have a deep squad for when the going gets tough in the months ahead.
However, on the negative side i must say that i was extremely disappointed with the lack of phone calls from late comers. The only person that took notice of yesterday's article and had the courtesy to call was Nick ! This is not just a random moan as no fewer than 6 strolled in well after the 8.35pm cut off for paying for how many lanes we need. As luck would have it, i guessed correctly and we didn't over pay as we did last week.
Back onto positive stuff and it must be noted that Nick bowled numerous "Unplayable" deliveries and Gareth Cox bowled the ball of the night to take out my middle stump ! Batting was patchy with equal measures of great shots and poor defensive strokes.
