What a night with the Net Doctor

Wednesday evening probably witnessed the best net in Rosaneri history.

Not only were the facilities a pleasant surprise, but we also enjoyed the services of the net doctor.

Goffs School is probably in the best location that is possible with the geographical spread of our players, and although the nets are not as plush as Hatfield they tick all the right boxes. The caretaker was brilliant and he even helped getting the nets in and out.

We had the use of 2 nets and the session immediately split into a normal net and an intense coaching net. The intense coaching net was marshalled by batting guru Neil Tilley, and it basically involved him spending 15 minute slots with batsmen by using throw downs.

The net doctor worked his magic and it wasn’t long before players were buzzing with new found confidence. At times it was like a scene out of the bible, people went into the intense coaching lane with limited hope, but emerged having experienced miracles.

My personal session with the net doctor was amazingly beneficial, as I spent 15 minutes working on playing attacking shots to balls just short of a length. His words of wisdom and minor adjustments to my set up left me feeling like I could attack even the most cunning and accurate of bowlers.

Unfortunately not all of the attendees could experience the one on one sessions due to time, but we are really hopeful that the net doctor can attend another session in the very near future.

The words of wisdom from the net doctor flowed all night, but the outstanding line of the night came from Marcus.

“If I had Kev Mully’s body I would have played in The Premiership”.
