Sunday August the 3rd is the latest date to add to your cricketing diary as we pleased to announce a match against Hoddesdon Cricket Club.
The game will be played away at the Lowfields Ground in Hoddesdon. Lowfields is a beautiful place to play cricket, and many club players have much experience of the wicket from previous games against Portsmouth University Old Boys.
The format of the match will be decided nearer to the time when the strength of both sides is known. There is a growing school of thought in the Rosaneri camp that we should push for as many timed games as possible, so it may well be that this game also ends up being played according to the rules of timed cricket.
I must admit, I am really looking forward to us achieving our first battled for draw. A draw can often feel better than victory if the circumstances are right, and the timed game offers us this extra element to the game.
We now have a healthy looking fixture list with more games yet to be added. Please do not panic at the number of fixtures as we must remember that we are in the grip of the English summer, and many games could easily be lost if last year was a benchmark. Therefore it is vital that we pack the list with matches as the weather could easily ruin 5 or 6 fixtures.
