Wednesday’s emergency net session at Hatfield is now closed to further players who haven’t already put their name down to avoid farcical scenes of players queuing up to bowl from out in reception.

Eight players have put their names forward by reacting quickly to yesterday’s article requesting that players informed the club of their intentions to take part in the session.

We also had a quick response from Kiwi Graham who kindly volunteered to go to the gym instead if numbers were high.

Things will hopefully settle down when we take up our proper booking at Sawbridgeworth with 2 lanes being available to us.

The popularity of winter nets obviously bodes well for the coming season as we will need as many players as possible to be available with a packed fixture schedule.
