Cotswolds date now confirmed

It has just been confirmed that our summer road trip to The Cotswolds is now set for Sunday the 13th of July.

This will be the first game in a two match series with negotiations well under way in arranging our home match at Lincoln Road.

Eastnor Castle, the venue for the battle of the Cotswolds, is a delightful place to play cricket in the most traditional setting that you will ever find. The final format of the match is yet to be decided, but it is very likely to involve two innings per side on the day. An early start to the match is almost inevitable, with lunch and tea providing breaks in play.

The build up to this game has already started, in what has basically become a “Derby match”. The Cotswolds are strong in all departments and obviously have the psychological advantage of having turned us over the last time we met.

However, we have come along way since that crushing defeat and we must go into the match full of confidence.

It does seem a long way off right now, but we must start thinking about our travel arrangements and matters such as staying over or returning home on the same day.

The fixtures are now flying in, and more news will follow this week of additions to the list.
