In this weekly round up article I think it is crucial for us to start getting organised and getting some dates in the diary.
The most important date you must get in your diary is Wednesday the 16th of January, which is the start of indoor nets at Sawbridgeworth. This will be a massive night for the club, firstly in terms of getting to use brand new state of the art facilities, but also it signifies the start of the build up to the 2008 season.
Other dates are not yet set in stone, but Bonehead will be posting an article shortly concerning a date for the proposed early New Year trip to Lords. This will be a great adventure and will give us the chance of “Playing at Lords”, as well as being able to soak up the history in the guided tour.
Another date due to be announced shortly, this time by Shell, is the date of the proposed tour of the bat factory in Essex. Not only will this give us a great insight into the workings of a bat factory, but it also serves as a great opportunity for pre season cricket banter. The factory shop sells not only bats, but also other cricketing equipment.
The final date that needs to set is that of the club’s Annual General Meeting. Far from certain, but this is likely to be sometime in January. There is plenty to discuss and it will be a great opportunity for everyone to put forward their ideas for the coming season.
