First match confirmed

The first fixture to be confirmed of the 2008 season is a repeat of our early season road trip to Tendring in Essex.

The match has been scheduled for Saturday the 17th of May at Tendring’s beautiful pitch in the middle of the Essex countryside. The match will be a classic 40 overs per side match and tea will be taken between innings.

This fixture last year got our season off to an exciting start, and who will forget that fabulous pub lunch we enjoyed before the cricketing action commenced. This season will surely see a repeat of the classic English countryside pub lunch.

Many observers felt that this fixture came too early in the season last year, and if it were played later in the season the pinks could have easily have reversed the result. The 2008 renewal will see Rosaneri bang up for it in an attempt to boost the club’s win ratio.

Many thanks must go to John Shuttlewood for his hard work on this fixture to ensure that it can be put on the fixture list as early as it has been.

Hopefully, more fixture news will follow later this week.
