Sawbridgeworth gets the nod

The winter nets saga is finally settled after all emails, opinions and thoughts were taken into account. It is obviously impossible to get the perfect slot and venue for everyone, but after much consideration we have gone ahead and booked the new facilities at Sawbridgeworth.

The sessions will begin on Wednesday the 16th of January, starting at 9pm and ending at 10pm.

We have booked two lanes mainly because the centre have a strict rule on a maximum of 6 players per lane, but also because we want to make sure that everyone is getting a worthwhile batting session every week. (If we had a good turn out one week and only had one net, it could mean that each batsman only gets about 5 minutes. Clearly for a proper batsman that is not enough to make the journey worthwhile.)

We will operate a pre subscription system again this year to ensure that the club are not out of pocket. Everyone is welcome to pre subscribe and it is vital that we get at least 10 to make sure we break even.

Players will be able to attend on a casual basis, but the strict rule on players per net may make this impossible some weeks. Therefore, pre subscribing will guarantee you a net whenever you are available.

A block of 10 sessions in these new state of the art facilities will cost £50. The club would appreciate payment in full, but if money is tight in the run up to Christmas, we can accept a £30 deposit to guarantee your place and the balance after your January pay day.

An email will be sent out shortly to which you need to respond to inform the club of your intentions. If you do not get the email for whatever reason and wish to pre subscribe then please contact Nick or Jim as soon as possible.
