Get in shape for the season
The 2008 season is rapidly approaching, and our winter rest must soon come to an end.
Nets are due to start in mid January, and some players (although i realise not all) have started their pre season fitness work by getting in some much needed road running.
But even if you haven't yet started your fitness, you can certainly take a closer look at what you are eating. We all know that the Government recommend "5 a day" portions of fruit and veg, but how many of us are actually achieving that ?
This week i have doubted my own fruit and veg intake and decided to do something about it, and as a result i am now enjoying the joys of homemade smoothies.
I must say, they are surprisingly easy to make, and delicious to drink.
Eating well makes you feel better and ultimately will give you more energy when most needed during the heat of battle in 2008.
All you need is a food blender and a few simple ingredients.
Try the following recipe and i promise you will feel the benefit.
2 bananas 16 Blackberries Half a pot of natural yoghurt 200ml of grape juice
Blend together and enjoy. The actual quantity measurements are not that important, and you can add more and different types of fruit as you see fit.
