Oh what a night

Saturday night saw Rosaneri Cricket Club’s first ever End of Season Meal and presentation night go brilliantly well in Hertford Town centre.

11 players and supporters turned up and enjoyed a night of stories, banter, memories from the summer and good food. The early part of the evening was dominated by a cameo appearance from Neil Tilley, who delighted the crowd with amusing stories from his sporting escapades.

The stories went to a higher level during the second part of the evening when the show moved stage to the Café Uno. Danny Dyer did the after dinner speaking in the form of Nick Shewring, as Nick told numerous stories involving pub brawls and snooker hall fights.

Proceedings were concluded in the Café Uno at about 10.30pm when Graham Tyrrell picked up The 2007 Golden Fielder award. The night seemed to have politely concluded, but Rosaneri CC’s newly appointed “Proper” hard man, Nick “The Guvnor” Shewring announced that the drinking had to continue. And he wasn’t talking about Café Lattte’s.

Marcus, who was feeling tired after a heavy day’s punting on international football suggested that he was about to turn in for the night, when Nick looked him in the eye and snarled, “Where are you going”. Needless to say, Marcus obeyed The Guvnor and headed towards a “Proper seedy boozer near the station” where the night was eventually concluded at 11.30pm.

A great night was had by all as the 2007 was finally concluded.
