Summer T20 tournament thrown into doubt

The proposed summer Twenty20 midweek league competition has been dealt a cruel blow as Jack of Diamonds have declined our invitation to take part.

A Jack of Diamonds spokesman said, "Our players opinions have been canvassed and the majority feel that our inclusion would not fit in with our long term aims."

He went on to add, "Most our players struggle to make midweek games and we can only field teams with 6 or 7 regulars and the numbers are made up with work colleagues or friends of friends. Weekend matches suit us better and we categorically prefer the longer format of the game."

"We thank Rosaneri for their kind invite and wish them all the best with the proposed Twenty20 league. We also look forward to playing against Rosaneri in the longer format of the game on a weekend date next summer."

This news serves as a massive blow to our plans, but it doesn't mean that the Twenty20 league is dead in the water yet.

Options will continue to be explored, and news will be posted on this website as soon as it is known.
