Steve Shewring

These reports are designed so that the player in question can look at their season in terms of figures. Sometimes bar room chat and banter can hide the truth behind what individuals are achieving.

Today we take a look at how Steve Shewring’s season went.

Batting 2007:

Scores: 6, 18, 6, 0, 5, 20, 2

50’s: 0

100’s: 0

Total runs: 57

Average: 8.14

4’s: 8

6’s: 2

Mode of dismissal:

Bowled, Caught, Caught, Caught, Lbw, Stumped, Stumped,

Steve has always been billed as an exciting all rounder with bags of potential. His season with the bat went very well, with 2 nice scores of 18 and 20 against experienced club opposition in the shape of Enfield and Edmonton. Steve’s ideal role is to come in and blast after the batsman have established a solid platform, as was the case in his inspired thrash against Edmonton.

Next season more will be expected as the pinks look to improve the team run total, and Steve will have a big role to play in the middle to lower order where big totals are lost and gained.

Total for season: 37.3-2-185-9

Average: 20.6

Economy: 4.96

Method of dismissal:

Steve picked up an impressive 9 wickets from a stop start season. Without doubt his best display came in his last game of the season when he got the ball singing tunes at Botany Bay, and deservedly bagged 3 wickets. With a bit of luck he could easily have picked up 6 or 7 wickets as he beat the bat consistently with ease.

His season’s figures speak for themselves with an average of 20 runs per wicket and an economy of under 5 runs per over.

Summary:

In summary, Steve enjoyed a great season, but I am sure there is still a lot more in the locker. Steve’s batting will be crucial next year if Rosaneri are to kick on and win more matches.

On the bowling front Steve must have been very disappointed that the season ended when it did, as in the last 2 matches he picked up 5 wickets and was in the form of his life.

Winter nets are a must for the big man, as the team really need him to hit the floor running next season rather than waiting to mid season to hit top form.
